Kale Watermelon Smoothie!

Hello, readers! It’s been awhile since I posted anything. Life has been crazy busy, but I find myself having a moment this afternoon to share a yummy, healthy smoothie recipe I formed this morning. This recipe can be modified to your liking. It combines ingredients that are a wonderful way to start your day. I personally drank this smoothie for breakfast with some eggs after a light run. How will you drink it? Start thinking about that because you should try it tomorrow!

Kale Watermelon Smoothie (This recipe is adapted from this high protien blueberry kale smoothie recipe on TheLemonBowl.com.):

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1 TBSP. ground flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 cup chopped frozen kale
  • 1 cup chopped fresh watermelon (Try it with frozen!)
  • Ice cubes to thicken as desired

Instructions:

  1.  Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth!
  2. Pour into a smoothie cup and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Try using chia seeds instead of flax.
  • Add 3/4 cup of unsweetened yogurt to add protien and make this smoothie meal-worthy!

I hope you enjoy trying this smoothie. The Lord is a creative God. Having been made in His image, I think it’s fun to be creative, too (in the form of food prep)! Plus, this smoothie is packed with nutrition for stewarding that awesome body He gave you. Why am I bringing up my great God at the end of a smoothie recipe? Let me leave you with a little encouragment for your personal relationship with God and simultaneously answer that question with a verse from God’s living and active Word!

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.

~Isaiah 26:3~
