“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done.”
~1 Chronicles 16:8 NLT
We have an amazing God! We did not deserve salvation or rescue, but He graciously allowed us to be saved through His death upon the cross if we choose to believe in Him. Neither are we worthy by any means to be counted righteous before God. “Yet,” as Colossians 1:22-23 (NLT) explains, “now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
“But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.”
Proclaim It!
According to 1 Chronicles 16:8 above, we are called to proclaim God’s greatness, glory, and Good News just like the Apostle Paul. It’s Thanksgiving of 2019, and you can be an example and a witness to those around you about how good our God is by thanking Him, proclaiming His greatness, and letting the whole world know what He has done in the past, the present, and, later, the future! Remember, your ability to testify about the greatness of the Lord comes from the Holy Spirit’s power.
The Whole Earth Must Know…
In Acts, Paul describes some conversations between Jesus and the disciples. Once, they ask their teacher when He will free the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people, from the Romans, who currently rule over them. Acknowledging God’s infinite authority and magnificence, Jesus replies that only the Father knows. Then, he reminds his deisciples about their mision, “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The Lord wants everyone to know about Him, and He wants us to share the Good News!
Jesus Is Worthy!!
Unlike ourselves, who “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 ESV), Jesus deserves our entire thanks, devotion, and praise! With the power of the Holy Spirit, focus on giving God sincere thanks this Thanksgiving holiday, while declaring His greatness to everyone through your thoughts, words, and actions!
“…’“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!'”
~Revelation 5:12~
