Be Inspiration Part 6

COLOSSIANS 3:12

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Proverbs 25:15

With patience you can persuade a ruler, and a soft tongue can break bones.

1 Timothy 1:16

However, I was treated with mercy so that Christ Jesus could use me, the foremost sinner, to demonstrate his patience. This patience serves as an example for those who would believe in him and live forever.

Hebrews 6:12

Then, instead of being lazy, you will imitate those who are receiving the promises through faith and patience.

Finally, we have reached our last intimate Today’s Tenacity post focusing on Colossians 3:12. On Wednesday, we will sum up about all we have learned in this verse. Super exciting!!!

Today, we are talking about patience. I am going to give you one of the definitions for patience at Dictionary.com:quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence:

to work with patience.

If you look at 1 Timothy 1:16, you’ll find that God demonstrated patience with us by dying on the cross. We should have paid the debt for our sins, but God paid it instead by demonstrating patience. In the garden of Eden, He could have immediately punished us all when we sinned, but He sent His Son to rescue us. Once Jesus was born, He was faithful to God all of His life on earth. He could have taken over the world and made us His servants, but He served us on the cross. When Jesus was about to be crucified He was put on trial, but He was quiet. It took steady perseverance to do all of this.

We need to express patience with our friends, family, and team mates. We need to especially focus on having patience because we are sinners in need of grace. We need to have patience with other people like Jesus had patience with us!
