Geraldine Finds Hope Through God
Once upon a time there was a girl, Geraldine, who lived in a run-down little apartment. She lived with her Grandma, only remembering that her parents had died from illness when she was very small and their names were Poinsettia and Paul. Geraldine was smart and intelligent with long, beautiful, dark brown hair. She wore simple clothes of plain colors such as brown and gray with no money to spear. She was only 15 years old and went to a small school, Keller Elementary, where she got the best education she possibly could.
One day, her grandma, who had taught her how to live and make a living for herself, had become ill and was sent away to a nursing home with all the money they had to care for her. Geraldine was left behind with their crabby neighbor a few doors down, Mrs. Falcom. At the same time, Geraldine’s school teacher left to go teach in the big city. Now, Geraldine was the oldest in her school with only one younger 15 year old, she had no choice, but to start substituting till another teacher came.
Geraldine prayed to God that He would help her in school and He did. On the fist day she had luckily prepared a speech and she said it with great calmness even though she was so nervous she was shaking, “Good morning, fellow students as I would have said a few days ago, but today I’m prepared to say good morning, class. I know all of you with great gratitude and am ready to step up as a guide for you to learn from and pursue the wise minds that are in store for you. I will be your substitute teacher till a new one arrives. Now, lets get to math!”
By this point with Geraldine’s teaching she had come to know her students and had been able to start building their characters. God had certainly helped Geraldine and she thanked Him for it. He had been good in hard times and now He would certainly have to again. For Geraldine’s grandma needed money sent to her to pay for some expensive medicine. Geraldine needed to send 50 dollars which was a lot in her time. She had saved up 40 so far to start saving for her own place to live which would cost about 80 dollars, but she did not want her grandma to die so her own place would have to wait.
It had been two weeks and Geraldine had finally sent the money, but in the process she learned about a bank account for Paul Wellen and it had 100 dollars in it. “Paul Wellen. This is my father’s bank account and there’s enough to buy a nice house and get some new things for the school,” she thought.Geraldine was very happy, but through this happiness she realized that God had helped her through all these bad things and even provided more for her. God is great and great is God!
Chocolate Lasagna
Ingredients:
- 36 crushed Oreos
- 6 TBS. melted butter
- one package of cream cheese; softened
- 1/4 cup whit granulated sugar
- 2 TBS. milk
- 2 packages of store bought, instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 1/4 cups milk
- one 12 ounce cool whip
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups of mini chocolate chips
Directions:
- Put all of your crushed Oreos in a big bowl and add in the melted butter, using a fork to blend the two together.
- Transfer all your Oreo crust to a 9 by 13 in pan (preferably glass) and press it down with your knuckles into the pan so that the crust is smooth on top and covering the bottom.Refrigerate while you make the other layers.
- Then, whip your softened cream cheese with an electric mixer in a mixing bowl until the cream cheese is light and fluffy.
- Add your white sugar and 2 TBS. of milk until well blended.
- Add a 1 1/4 cups of cool whip into the batter and stir it with a spoon. Pour the batter onto the crust and smooth over. You can also refrigerate this while you are making your chocolate layer.
- In a separate bowl whisk together the pudding mixes and the 3 1/4 cups of milk until it is a good thickness (preferably until thick enough to serve).
- Spread your pudding onto the cream cheese layer and spread until smooth on top and cover the pan. Then, plop the rest of your cool whip and spread that the same way as the other layers on top. Sprinkle your 1 to 1/2 cups of chocolate chips on top (the more the better as I always say). I also used some mini M&Ms to spell love, but there’s no need for them if you do not have any. Ours were left over from sugar cookie decorating at Christmas time.
- Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or freeze for 1 hour before serving. Keep your Chocolate Lasagna in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
A Poem for the Clouds
How they fly by in a moonlit sky is a mystery to me. Their beauty is shared all around the world. They look just like pearls in the brightly colored, beautiful blue. Clouds, o clouds, you are just right where you are supposed to be. God made you perfectly.
He made you to cover the ground with dew drops and rain. I always see you through my window pane. God made you to provide shade for all those many, hot, sunny days. Even when we can’t play outside on a rainy day God made you for good reasons. You cover the sky with that pretty crisp white and hover the grounds to protect us from the suns light. Certainly, God made you so perfectly!
