So, totally on accident, something last night happened that is perfect for sharing about. A little while ago I read a story called The Second Mile. It was about a peasant boy named David. One day a Roman soldier was strolling through his town. When he saw David he demanded that he carry his heavy pack a mile for him. David obeyed the soldier, but he was angry. Suddenly, he remembered the words of a very wise man, named Jesus. Jesus said if someone asks you to walk a mile with him, walk two. If a stranger asks for your coat, give him your scarf as well. He listed a few more examples as well, but I don’t really need to list them all.
Anyways, David decided to walk the second mile with the soldier and actually became friends with him. He was glad with his choice. So, last night I asked my dad if I could watch some TV and he said I could. He also requested that I unload half of the dish washer. I did as he requested, but then I remembered the story and decided to unload it all! I was and am still happy with my choice.
I think this is important to tell about because it shows how much God is like. If you needed something, even if you wanted you something, God wants to give it to us. He will always do what is right. He is not selfish or arrogant, but is loving and kind and we should try to always do what He would do. Isn’t Jesus amazing?
Hopefully you liked this post! How about a prayer to end it.
Dear our amazing Lord, who doesn’t sin, but shares His love with the world.Sometimes I get angry and mad with other people’s wrongs, but then I realize I do just as much as sin as they. But you don’t, Jesus. You are perfect and you always do whats right! Please help me not to get mad and be more like you. I love you, Lord! Amen!
